Windows 2000 Terminal Services will not start after booting

Here are are the registry keys that should be backup and removed:

  1. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TermService
  2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TermServLicensing
  3. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TermDD
  4. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Terminal Server

Replace these keys from a known working Terminal Server of the same OS type/Service Pack and patch level.
